In a new chapter of our Ambassadors Series, we spoke with the Ambassador of the United States to Chile, H.E. Brandon Judd, about the current state and outlook of the bilateral relationship. We examined the ongoing tariff negotiations, the role of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Ex-Im Bank in U.S. investment in Chile, with a focus on copper refining, infrastructure and data centers, and the diversification of critical mineral supply chains.
We also discussed security cooperation and the scope of the Shield of the Americas, the United States' position on China's presence in critical infrastructure in the region, and the role of APEC and multilateralism.
