Webinar: Geopolitics of Global Trade and its Impact on the Asia-Pacific: What is at Stake for Chile?

Date: 14/01/2026

In this webinar, we explored the geopolitical dynamics that are shaping and driving trade and investment flows in the Asia-Pacific region in order to identify the main challenges and opportunities for Chile as the country moves forward with negotiations and diversifies its partners.

The panelists were Deborah Elms, director of trade policy at the Hinrich Foundation in Singapore and founder and executive director of the Asian Trade Center; Jonathan Fried, chair of the Canadian National Committee of the Council for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CANPECC) and distinguished fellow at the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada; and Daniel Fernández, president of the Chilean Maritime and Port Chamber (CAMPORT).

Simultaneous interpretation was provided by Patricio González.
