📌 We are glad to share an opinion column by Loreto Leyton, executive director of the Chile Pacific Foundation, that came out in the August Bulletin (page 11) of the Centro de Estudios Regional de la Universidad de Tarapacá, titled «An International Trade in Transformation and Chile’s Options».

Among other aspects, the column highlights that «the institutional framework for global trade is currently under scrutiny and strain, largely owing to changes in global power configuration stemming from the “America Firstˮ trade policy promoted by the Donald Trump administration and Chinaʼs consolidation as the worldʼs second-largest economy—with its consequent geopolitical correlate and geoeconomic fragmentation.»

The publication also includes columns by Senator José Miguel Insulza, member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chilean Senate; Georgina Núñez, member of CEUTA’s board of directors; Claudia Sanhueza, undersecretary of International Economic Relations; and Dorotea López, director of the Institute of International Studies at the University of Chile.
