This document, co-produced by the APEC Business Advisory Council and the Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California, researched core issues for the development and implementation of MSME-focused policies in APEC economies. The researched is aimed at:
i) Promoting digital transformation;
ii) Improving sustainability practices;
iii) Building the infrastructure for a digital marketplace for supply chain finance;
iv) Promoting greater economic inclusion.
This report presents a new post-pandemic scenario of “the MSME economy” in APEC and seeks to stimulate debates, highlight this issue as an urgent matter and drive action to improve the resilience and competitiveness of MSMEs. It does so by understanding that it is relevant because “economies that promote their MSMEs achieve greater economic and social growth”.
The Chile Pacific Foundation collaborated in the research in Chile in its role as National Secretariat of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
