The Foundation's Executive Director, Loreto Leyton, attended the General Meeting of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), held on August 22.
The theme of the meeting was "The Role of Regional Cooperation in a World in Crisis." Loreto Leyton moderated a panel entitled "A World in Crisis: The Imperative of International Cooperation," which aimed to discuss the challenges of cooperation in a changing global context. The panelists were Ambassador Donald Campbell, Chair of the Canada National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CANCPEC); Dr. Siwook Lee, President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP); and Marc Reverdin, Diplomatic Advisor to the France Pacific Territories Economic Committee (FPTPEC).
The PECC, representing a variety of stakeholders from the business, government and academic worlds, and acting as one of the official observers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, held its General Meeting this year together with the APEC - Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation SOM 3 (Senior Official Meeting) group of meetings.
