The Chile Pacific Foundation salutes the green light given today at the US Senate to the agreement that puts an end to double taxation between the US and Chile. This milestone will greatly benefit Chilean and US businesses and tax payers.
As a Foundation devoted to building public-private bridges to support the projection of our country across the Pacific Basin, we are glad the bill received robust support from the US senators, who cast 95 votes in favour and only two against. The text is now ready to being enacted into law.
According to Chile’s Central Bank, up until the end 2021, the stock of FDI from the US in Chile reached more than USD 15 billion, while the stock of pasive FDI was over US$ 27 billion.
