With the presence of more than 1,400 guests, the Pacific Alliance Agreement for Youth Employability was signed yesterday May 31 . The agreement is an initiative that brings together 38 companies with the objective of opening 18,000 job vacancies to stimulate the technical training of young people through the Alliance.
The agreement was signed during the Second Youth Meeting of the Pacific Alliance, organized by the Swiss multinational Nestlé and with the collaboration of the Business Council of the Pacific Alliance (CEAP).
Among the subscribers of the agreement are two partner companies of the Chile Pacific Foundation, Banco de Chile and LATAM Airlines, as well as the Sigdo Koppers Group, whose executive president, Juan Eduardo Errázuriz, is a member of the Chilean chapter of CEAP.
Together with the creation of 17,902 jobs for young people, the agreement also aims to stimulate dual vocational training in order to synchronize the training of young people with the companies’ needs.
The second meeting had among its objectives to bring together business leaders with youth representatives so that they can express their proposals regarding employment, entrepreneurship and innovation and was attended by more than 800 young people from the Pacific Alliance and the guest country, Argentina; with representatives of the Ministries of Labor and Education from the Alliance, Swiss authorities and officials of the International Labor Organization and the World Bank.
The second Youth Meeting of the Pacific Alliance took place during the pro tempore presidency of Chile and a significant agreement was reached with respect to the First Meeting held in Peru in 2015, thanks to the signing of the Agreement for Youth Employability.
