Alliance Pacific

Throughout its history, the Foundation has been characterized for the Latin American dimension of its work in linking it to the Asia – Pacific region. From the beginning of the decade of the 90’s it has worked together with the Government and businessmen supporting Colombia’s aspiration to join the APEC Forum; it has also worked for the development and strengthening of the Forum for East Asia – Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC), the potential of which has not been wholly utilized by the member countries. Another example of the work on Latin American links carried out by the Foundation is the large meeting of PECC XII in 1997. Invited to this forum were the President of Brazil, Fernando Henrique Cardoso and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Guido DiTella, who were present at the meeting accompanied by important delegations from their countries.

Currently, this effort is directed mainly towards promoting the Pacific Alliance’s plans through activities of publicizing, analyses and proposals of policies in Chile and abroad, with articles, technical papers, conferences, speeches, and other activities.
